Khalsa College Charitable Society
Khalsa College Charitable Society claims pre-eminence not only for its glorious past, but also because of its visionary outlook towards the future. This premier-most institute of higher learning was registered in 1892 under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 as a nonprofitable, non-commercial, charitable society. The “Will and Vision” of its founders can be seen from the progress it has made since its establishment. The Society started Khalsa Middle School as its first Educational Institution in 1893. The foundation of famous monumental and heritage building of Khalsa College was laid on March 05, 1892 and the Khalsa College Council came into being in April, 1892. Khalsa College started its graduate classes in 1897 and it was affiliated to Calcutta University. This monumental and world famous piece of architecture is no doubt spacious in dimensions and the main college building masterpiece of architecture, is a blend of Mughal, Rajput and Sikh Styles. The college campus covers an area of over 330 acres and provides latest amenities of higher education. At present the society is running 19 Educational Institutions, including Schools and Colleges with a total intake of more than 15000 students to achieve high degree of excellence of mind, body and soul for the welfare of youth. Society, since its inception has been associated with highly intelligent, inspired and hardworking personalities, educationists, administrators, industrialists and public men of great eminence and repute. Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology is efficiently managed by Khalsa College Charitable Society, Amritsar, with the aim of “welfare and well-being of all” and achieving great heights for the fulfillment of its mission and goals.
